At long last, we finally received our new COTT cycle and tri jerseys. And they are awesome! Very comfy, great material, and an awesome design. They are very unique and stand out well in the crowd. We have already had many compliments both from COTT members as well as outsiders.
If you didn’t order one in the last round, keep your eyes out as we will start another order either late this season or early next season. Now that the design and other details have been worked out, ordering will be much quicker and easier; We just have to meet the minimum order quantity. Ride of Silence May 19, 2010

In case you haven’t heard, what happened to our very own Sara was truly terrifying, but it really could have happened to any one of us. After reading the articles and watching the story on the local news, I was moved by how in spite of her injuries, she has chosen to pay it forward and use this situation as an opportunity to express a very important message–SHARE THE ROAD.
Fortunately Sara’s injuries will heal, and hopefully she’ll be back on her bike soon. However, others in the global cycling community have not be as lucky. I feel that it’s very important to participate in the Ride of Silence tonight not only to help support our way of life, but also to support our friend Sara. I encourage you all to come out and participate tonight if you’re free.

Google Maps Adds Bike-Friendly Directions and Trails March 10, 2010

It has been a requested feature for quite some time and it is finally here. Google has added bike trails and bike-friendly directions to Google Maps.
Google has added bike trails to the maps and when determining directions, it factors in elevation change, traffic patterns, and availability of bike lanes on the roads to determine the easiest and safest route.
This is a great addition to Google Maps but keep in mind that it is still in beta. I mapped a few routes from my house that I am familiar with and it did take me on a few interesting little detours. So use it and have fun but remember it is beta so pay attention to where it is taking you. It’s a great tool that is only going to continue to get better. Watch the video below for a demo.
